They often say the most difficult part of therapy "is walking through the door." I believe there is truth to that statement. My goal is to provide clients with a non-judgmental, empathetic, genuine and collaborative environment. I believe that a mutually trusting relationship between client and counselor is primary to personal change. With all clients, my goal is to have a safe, and comfortable environment in which clients can freely explore new ideas and resolve problems. Effective therapy can be a powerful way to achieve happiness, acceptance, and a greater satisfaction with life. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals on issues pertaining to anxiety, depression, relationships, self-actualization, anger, self-esteem, and grief.
In addition to individualized counseling, I offer couples therapy, community resources, education, and referrals. I would like to help you navigate the challenges that you are facing. You are not alone and there is hope. I believe in the importance of being your true self in order to lead the most fulfilling life possible. I can guide you towards increased self-awareness, positive change, and healing.
Before I became an LCSW, I graduated in 2011 from Belhaven University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In 2014, I earned a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Southern University at New Orleans. I have experience in outpatient and inpatient mental health hospitals, working with personality disorders, mood disorders, and addictive disorders. In my practice I use evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My work with individuals and couples is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and create more secure, supportive relationships. I also incorporate the Gottman Method to help couples build trust, manage conflict more effectively, and deepen intimacy through practical, research-based tools. In addition, I have basic training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an approach that can support clients in processing difficult experiences and reducing the impact of trauma, anxiety, and distressing memories. As a therapist, I am able to integrate my knowledge of mental health issues to help couples, families, and individuals problem-solve, overcome personal issues, and work toward positive outcomes in relationships.
Splitting my time in Louisiana and Montana has been wonderful; enjoying two communities that I am grateful for, which I love sharing with my husband and our two dogs. When I am not working, I enjoy good food, hunting for antiques, and interior design.
